Replacement Poem

All new problems the youth see.

In this it involves all of society.

The issue, for instance, that each year

the use of an illegal drug. That the public

See’s cheating problematic the dirty full syringe

of that clear liquid is, in their hand,

the painful injection of a first world

of conceived individuals. Or the different reasons,

because there in lies worldly questions

to which the media madness of cold-hearted reporters,

a misguided man “cheats” to be seen.

He thought about it every time injecting and in the mind

of his family, there is a quiet voice of shame, a sound

like stop. soon a shame I understood that,

taking this path, all things lost: hair,

fertility, pure skin, impotence, then and now. There was a man

I came to know and I witnessed change, grabbing

his massive biceps in my hand occasionally,

I saw a violent anger in his eyes

like a rage for more, for my interested mind

with its many wonders, seeing changes from the past man,

sweet runs where we practiced the old sport-ball bat

called baseball. It never appeared to do with us.

knowing, we say, becoming impure is full

of guilty conscious. We need have been the same of old.

But I recall so little, the scene he showed demonstrated advancement,

the reason of using he said was fame, what

he dreamed. There are moments when the body is as precious

as time, moments that will be lost from continuing.

Such tension, those PED’s and HGH,

saying try me, try me, try me

By changing multiple words in this poem it changed the whole meaning from the Meditation at Lagunitas to the use of PED’s. Embedding the different nouns and adverbs changed the way I started looking at my issue. I kept thinking about the use of performance enhancing drugs in high school kids, and how they could really damage their bodies. I might make my report/review about the use of young teens using PED’s, instead of making PED’s legal to the public.

Postcard Activity

The use of performance enhancing drugs in teens is increasing every year. 1 in 10 high school athletes admit to trying HGH, this is double the amount of high schools athletes from last year (ABC News). If you are a parent you can sit down and talk to them about the effects of using PED's during such an early stage of life, this could help your child make the right choices when PED's are presented.

Some of the common PED's used by teenagers include: anabolic steroids that provide a different version of testosterone to build muscle and strength, creatine use to enhance recovery time of muscled, and HGH originally used to help people grow but also build muscle faster.

The use of PED's in early childhood can stunt the growth of kids, which is irreversible, also increasing the risk of cancer.

Staying involved with your children during their physical activities and reminding them that the use of PED's can really harm their bodies, will help them steer clear of the dangers PED's can bring them.
